4. Work Permit Application Process in Vietnam

Step 1: Approval for Hiring Foreign Workers

At least 30 days before employment, the employer must submit a request to the Ministry of Labor or Provincial People’s Committee.

Processing time: 15 working days

Required documents include:

  • Application form (Form 01/PLI or 02/PLI)
  • Authorization letter (if applicable)
  • Business registration certificate

Step 2: Prepare Work Permit Documents

While waiting for approval, prepare:

  • Application form (Form 11/PLI)
  • Health certificate (valid within 12 months)
  • Criminal record (issued within 6 months)
