Vietnam e-Visa Application: How to Apply – A–Z Complete Guide

The Vietnam e-Visa application is an official online visa issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department, officially implemented since February 2017.

This type of visa allows foreign nationals to enter Vietnam through an online application process, without the need to submit paper documents in person.

Currently, the Vietnam e-Visa is valid for up to 90 days and is available in two types:

Vietnam E-Visa Application Process for Foreigners

Note: Vietnam e-Visa applications can only be submitted via the official e-Visa portal of the Immigration Department – Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam.

Step 1: Access the E-Visa Application Website

        • Visit the official Vietnam e-Visa application page for foreigners

        • Select “Apply here”

        • Confirm:

                ° Compliance with Vietnamese laws

                ° Having read the instructions carefully and prepared all required documents

Step 2: Upload Required Documents

        • Portrait photo

        • Passport scan (valid passport)

Step 3: Declare Detailed Information

Including:

        • Personal information: full name, gender, date of birth, nationality, place of birth, religion

        • Passport details: passport number, type, date of issue, expiry date, issuing authority

        • Visa information: visa type (single / multiple entry), intended entry date

        • Trip information: purpose of entry, entry date, entry & exit checkpoints, address of stay in Vietnam

        • Contact & emergency information

        • Occupation information

Step 4: Confirmation & Payment

        • Review all submitted information carefully

        • Receive the application reference code (very important)

        • Pay the e-Visa fee:

                ° USD 25 – single-entry visa

                ° USD 50 – multiple-entry visa

Step 5: Check Application Status

        • Visit: https://evisa.gov.vn/e-visa/search

        • Enter required information to track application status

        • Download the e-Visa once approved

        • Print the e-Visa or save the file to present upon entry into Vietnam
